TREES FOR TRAVEL; HELPING TO OVERCOME THE CONTRIBUTION OF GREENHOUSE GASSES TRAVELERS PRODUCE BY JET TRAVEL
Why Trees for Travel?
Trees for Travel is neither a tour operator, travel agency, nor booking office. You just make reservations and fly with the company of your choice. As an extra, with Trees for Travel you can contribute a modest amount per flight that goes towards neutralising the greenhouse effect. Tress for Travel employs the income for planting and maintaining forest, at least as much as is needed to compensate within one year for all the greenhouse gasses resulting from your air flight.
In 1997 the Climate Treaty was signed in Kyoto, which is supposed to help reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses world-wide.
Air traffic is also responsible for these greenhouse gasses. So far people have not been able to reach any international agreements about this emission from air travel. Trees for Travel, an initiative of people from the travel and environmental world, does not want to wait and wants to act responsibly now. Your help in that is urgently needed!
Trees for Travel Stichting is a Dutch foundation; but because the greenhouse effect is a world-wide problem and is not covered by the Climate Treaty, people from all over the world also need the opportunity to do something about it. Trees for Travel is working hard to offer people outside The Netherlands the chance to compensate for the greenhouse gas emission of their air travel through Trees for Travel.
